Marketing measured in enquiries, not likes
It is easy to spend money on marketing. It is much harder to spend it in a way that brings paying customers. My approach is deliberately simple: every campaign must connect to a number you actually care about — calls, WhatsApp messages, form enquiries, orders. If a monthly report cannot show that connection, the work behind it was decoration, however colourful the graphs. After 11+ years building and marketing websites, that is the one standard I refuse to bend.
There is a second advantage in hiring a developer-marketer: half of all marketing failures are actually technical failures. Slow pages burning ad budgets, broken tracking making results invisible, structural SEO problems no amount of content can outrank. Because I work at the code level, those problems get fixed, not just reported in an audit you pay someone else to act on.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Technical foundation first
Before chasing keywords, the site itself must be readable and fast for search engines: crawlability, indexing, page speed, mobile experience, clean URLs, schema markup, sitemap health, and fixing the silent killers like duplicate content and broken links. This unglamorous layer is where most stalled SEO campaigns are actually stuck — and it is the layer most agencies subcontract or skip.
Keyword strategy built on buyer intent
Ranking for words nobody searches, or words searched by people who will never buy, is vanity. I research what YOUR customers type at the moment of need — "AC repair near me", "best coaching for NEET in Meerut", "GST consultant Ghaziabad" — and map each valuable search to a page purpose-built to win it. Ten pages targeting ten real buying searches beat a hundred pages of generic content every time.
Content that answers, not fills
Google's systems increasingly reward content that genuinely helps — and so do the AI answer engines that now sit on top of search. Service pages that answer the customer's real questions, articles built from the questions your customers ask you on calls, FAQ sections carrying proper schema. Written for humans, structured for machines, and always original: content copied or spun is a penalty waiting to happen, so everything published under your name is written fresh.
Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and AI visibility
Search is turning into answers: featured snippets, voice replies, AI summaries in Google, and assistants like ChatGPT recommending businesses. Being ranked is no longer enough — you want to be the answer that gets quoted. That means question-led headings with direct answers in the first two sentences, FAQ schema on every service and location page, consistent business information across the web, and emerging standards like llms.txt that describe your business to AI crawlers. Very few local competitors are doing this yet, which is precisely the opportunity.
Local SEO: winning the map
Every day, people within a few kilometres of your business search for exactly what you sell, and Google shows three businesses in the map box. Local SEO is the discipline of being one of those three, and for shops, clinics, and local services it is the highest-ROI marketing that exists.
The work: claiming and completing your Google Business Profile field by field — categories, services with prices, real photos of your actual premises (they measurably outperform stock images), hours, regular posts. Building a review engine: a simple habit of sending your review link after every happy customer, plus replies to every review including the bad ones, because calm helpful replies convince future customers more than the stars do. Aligning your website: identical name, address and phone everywhere, your city woven naturally into titles and content, and a proper location page for each area you serve — one good page per area beats one paragraph listing twenty cities. Local SEO is not a campaign you run once; it is a position you occupy, and every review, photo and citation stacks. Businesses that maintain it for six months tend to lock their map pack — and then it quietly delivers customers for years.
Google Ads (PPC) that respects your budget
Ads bring enquiries from day one — if they are built with discipline. My campaigns run on buyer-intent keywords only, with aggressive negative-keyword lists so your budget is not burned by job-seekers, students and DIY researchers. Every ad lands on a page that matches its promise (never a generic homepage), and conversion tracking is configured before the first rupee is spent, so we know the cost of every call and enquiry, not just every click.
Then the ongoing work that separates managed campaigns from money bonfires: search-term reviews to catch waste, bid and schedule adjustments toward the hours and areas that convert, A/B testing of ad copy, and honest scaling decisions — including the recommendation to pause a campaign that isn't working, which you will hear from me the moment the data says it.
Social media, done honestly
For most local businesses, social media supports the brand rather than drives the sales — and pretending otherwise wastes your money. What works: a consistent presence that proves you are real and active, content recycled intelligently from your website's articles, WhatsApp Business set up properly with catalogue and quick replies, and occasionally boosted posts with a specific local objective. What I will not sell you: vanity follower growth, engagement-bait, or a "content calendar" of stock images with your logo. If your business genuinely suits deeper social investment (food, fashion, events do), I will say so and plan it; if not, I will say that too.
The sequence that works for most businesses
Month 0 — fix the foundation. Speed, mobile experience, clear service pages, conversion paths, analytics and call/WhatsApp tracking. Marketing money spent before this step leaks.
Months 1–3 — ads for now, SEO for later. A tight Google Ads campaign brings enquiries immediately while SEO groundwork begins: technical fixes, Business Profile, first content targeting real buying keywords.
Months 3–6 — the crossover. Organic rankings rise; budget gradually shifts from ads toward content and local signals. Reports show both engines side by side so the shift is driven by data, not opinion.
Beyond — compound and defend. SEO carries the base load; a small ads presence holds the most competitive keywords; content library keeps growing from the questions customers actually ask. Businesses that commit to this sequence for six months rarely go back — the mathematics of owned rankings versus rented clicks becomes obvious in their own numbers.
What it costs, and what you get for it
One-time foundation work — audits, technical SEO fixes, Business Profile optimisation, landing pages — is quoted per item, exactly like my development work, so you see and choose every line. Ongoing engagements are monthly: an SEO retainer covering technical health, content and local signals; ads management scaled to your spend; or a combined plan. Every month you receive a plain-language report: what was done, what moved, what is next — with enquiries, not impressions, as the headline number. No lock-in contracts. You continue because the results are visible, not because a document forces you; if a month ever fails to justify itself, you can stop, and that pressure keeps my work honest.
Straight answers to the usual questions
"How long does SEO take?" Local and low-competition keywords often move within 4–8 weeks. Competitive keywords take 3–6 months of consistent work. Anyone promising #1 in days is selling a story — usually followed by tactics that get sites penalised.
"SEO or ads — which one for me?" Ads if you need enquiries this week and the website is ready to convert them. SEO for the long game. Most businesses do best with the sequence above: ads for immediate flow while SEO compounds behind it.
"Can you market a website you didn't build?" Yes. I audit it first, fix anything that would waste your budget, then start campaigns. If the site is genuinely holding you back, you'll get the honest verdict and costed options before any marketing spend.
"Do you guarantee rankings?" No honest marketer does — Google's algorithm is not for sale to any of us. What I guarantee is disciplined work, full transparency, and reporting tied to enquiries. Ownership of every account — ads, analytics, Business Profile — stays with you.
"What do you need from me?" Access to the accounts (in your name), a little of your time monthly to review results, and your knowledge of your customers — the questions they ask you are my best raw material.
Find out what is realistic for your budget
Send an enquiry below with a line about your business, or book a free estimate meeting and bring your current numbers if you have them. You will get an honest assessment of what is achievable, in what timeframe, for what spend — even when the honest answer is "start smaller" or "fix the website first". That honesty is free; it is also the reason clients stay for years.
Measurement: the part that makes everything else honest
Before the first campaign rupee, tracking gets built: analytics on every page, goals for form submissions, click-tracking on phone numbers and WhatsApp buttons, and — where call volume justifies it — separate numbers per channel so a ringing phone can be traced to the campaign that made it ring. This is the plumbing that turns "marketing is running" into "ads brought 23 enquiries at Rs. 180 each; organic brought 31 free; the pricing page loses people, let's fix it." Every monthly report is built on that plumbing, in plain language, with enquiries as the headline number. If a channel underperforms, the report says so and says what changes — including, sometimes, "stop this channel". You will never need to decode a dashboard to learn whether your money worked.
The one-hour-a-week content system
Small businesses believe content marketing needs a team and a studio. It needs one focused hour and a simple loop. Minutes 0–10: collect this week's real customer questions from calls and WhatsApp — each is a future article your next customer is already searching. Minutes 10–50: answer one question properly, the way you would across the counter: direct answer first, then explanation, then an example, then the next step. Five hundred honest words beat two thousand padded ones — and that direct-answer format is exactly what Google's snippets and AI assistants quote. Minutes 50–60: publish on your website (the SEO asset), then recycle the same answer into a WhatsApp status, a Business Profile post and a social caption. One effort, four placements. After six months you own roughly twenty-five articles answering your market's exact questions, receiving visitors mid-question — the best possible visitors, arriving pre-sold by the business that answered them. I can run this system for you, or set it up and coach your team to run it; either way it compounds while ads merely tick.
Remarketing: the second chance most businesses skip
Most visitors don't convert on the first visit — they compare, get distracted, plan to come back and forget. Remarketing quietly follows up: your ad appearing to people who already visited, reminding rather than interrupting. It is the cheapest traffic in the entire system because the audience already knows you, and a small monthly budget here routinely outperforms broad campaigns several times its size. Done with restraint — frequency caps, a rotating message, an actual offer — it feels like a helpful nudge; done greedily it feels like a stalker, so restraint is part of the service. For eCommerce, the same mechanics recover abandoned carts; for services, it keeps you in mind through the week between "found you" and "ready to call".
The marketing offers to run away from
Some patterns cost Indian small businesses crores every year, so consider this section a public service. "Guaranteed #1 on Google." Nobody can guarantee rankings; those who promise them either target your own brand name (worthless) or use tactics that end in penalties. "10,000 followers for Rs. 999." Purchased followers are bots that convert at exactly zero and poison your account's reach for the real audience. Directory renewals and fake "Google partnership" calls pressuring immediate payment — Google does not cold-call demanding money. Agencies that own your accounts — ads account, analytics, Business Profile — so leaving them means starting from zero; every account should live in your name from day one, with access granted to whoever works on it. Reports without enquiry numbers — impressions and reach are how activity is dressed up when results are absent. If any current vendor triggers three of these five, the free consultation below will pay for itself in one conversation.
What the first ninety days with me look like
Weeks 1–2: tracking built, technical audit executed (not just delivered), Business Profile completed, keyword map agreed — the unglamorous fortnight that makes everything after it measurable. Weeks 3–6: ads live on buyer-intent keywords with tight negatives; first content targeting the most winnable searches; review engine habit started with your team. Weeks 7–12: first organic movements on local terms; search-term waste trimmed from ads weekly; landing pages tuned on real behaviour; the month-three report shows both engines side by side with cost per enquiry for each. From there the budget follows the evidence — which is the entire philosophy in one sentence. Bring your current numbers to a free estimate meeting, or send an enquiry below, and I will tell you honestly what ninety days can realistically do for your budget — including when the honest answer is "fix the website first".
Industry sketches: where the leverage hides
Clinics and doctors: the map pack plus question-content ("is X treatment painful", "Y cost in Ghaziabad") — health decisions start as searches, and the practice that answers them wins the appointment. Coaching institutes: results-season content and parent-facing proof; ads spike before admissions, SEO carries the rest of the year. Manufacturers and B2B: product-line pages that rank for specification searches, plus LinkedIn presence; one exporter-grade enquiry pays for a year of the work. Restaurants: Business Profile photos, review velocity and menu freshness beat almost everything else; ads only around occasions. Real estate: hyper-local pages per project and area, remarketing to the long decision cycle. Retail and eCommerce: product-page SEO as the compounding asset, cart-recovery remarketing as the quiet profit line. Different industries, one constant: the leverage sits where buying intent meets weak competition — finding that intersection for your business is the first deliverable of any engagement.
Working together: rhythm and expectations
Month starts with a short plan note: what gets done and why. Work happens in your accounts, visible any time. Month ends with the plain-language report — enquiries first, channel detail after, next month's adjustments last. You get my direct number for the odd urgent question; I get a little of your time for review calls and, ideally, a forwarded customer question now and then to feed the content engine. Budgets can pause for a lean month without penalty; strategies survive pauses, and pretending otherwise is how lock-in contracts get justified. Expect early months to be foundation-heavy and later months to compound — and expect to be told plainly if your money would work harder somewhere else in the plan than where it is currently pointed.
If you have read this far, you already care more about marketing quality than most of your competitors — which is itself an advantage waiting to be used. The free estimate meeting below turns it into a plan with numbers.
