"We have a website but it never shows on Google" is one of the most common problems I audit. The causes fall into three buckets, and each has a different fix.
Bucket 1: Google has not indexed you
Before ranking comes indexing — Google must know your pages exist. Check by searching site:yourdomain.com. If nothing appears: verify your site in Google Search Console, submit your XML sitemap, and confirm nothing is blocking crawlers (a stray "noindex" tag or a robots.txt disallow left over from development is a classic). Indexing problems are usually fixed within days.
Bucket 2: Indexed, but ranking nowhere
Your pages exist in Google but sit on page five. This is a relevance problem: your pages do not clearly answer what people search. Each service needs its own page targeting real phrases ("AC repair in Ghaziabad", not just "our services"), with genuine, useful content — not three lines and a stock photo. Titles, headings and content should use the words customers actually type.
Bucket 3: Relevant, but outgunned
Your content is decent but competitors have more authority — more history, more content, more links, more reviews. The compounding fixes: a steadily growing Google Business Profile with real reviews, helpful blog content answering customer questions, local directory presence, and time. This is the slow bucket, and it is where consistency beats tricks.
The honest timeline
Indexing fixes: days. Relevance fixes: weeks to months. Authority building: months, compounding into years of advantage. Anyone promising page one in a fortnight is describing either a zero-competition keyword or a penalty waiting to happen. An audit tells you which bucket you are in — and that diagnosis is where every real SEO plan starts.
